Yup. That's the sales pitch I got from a 24 year old salesman named Luciano. He said I could easily rent the place for $3000 per day and it would pay for itself. in no time at all. Blah, blah, blah......
I just returned from a week at RM and had the incredible, unfortunate luck of the draw to get this guy Luciano too. I was interested to see what the update information was available and, of course, what they were going to try to sell. After the usual breakfast we were taken to the sales area where he introduced himself as the department manager. Right!
He immediately told us that we shouldn't have been allowed to be here as our contract was for NV. I told him that I was pretty sure that we have the right to use at any equal GL 2Br Suite unit at any Vidanta resort. He insisted that I was wrong and pulled out the first page of the contract showing we bought at PV, that we shouldn't have been allowed to be here and loudly accused me (and my family) of calling him a liar stating that he has been doing this for many years and he knew all about the contracts.
As he kept going on and on about how much he knew, and how wrong we were, decided to end the conversation and the meeting and my wife walked out to find a real manager. At that point he came back with the line that what we had was a "Founders Contract" that was grandfathered in that it could be worth millions. He said that he would personally buy back our contract at $175,000. All I needed to do was to give him our bank account information and we would be stupid not to do it. I suggested that he just give me a check and we had a deal. No such luck.
At that point we ended the meeting with him and were turned over to another salesman, Bruno, who was very pleasant to deal with and were given the expected sales pitch. We didn't upgrade but did get the expected presentation of the theme park, a tour of the Estates building under construction, etc.
If anyone is going to visit RM and they are assigned this Luciano guy...run!
