Has anyone purchased through buyatimeshare.com? They are not in the TUG list of timeshare sales companies. They say they are a broker for "For Sale By Owner" timeshares. We have put in an offer and it has been countered, but would like advice from anyone that has heard of them or used them.

I looked at some on that site and at one time, but never completed a transaction. They sell advertising space to people who want to sell their timeshare. In other words they charge a hefty fee to list timeshares and it makes no difference at all to them whether it sells or not. Likewise it does not matter to them if the information is out of date in any of the ads because it looks nice to have many ads on the site.

If you can find a seller on the site willing to give a reasonable deal on something you want, it would likely work out fine as long as normal precautions are taken, but I would never use it to list a timeshare for sale. I bet a search of this site will turn up more than one thread on the company since it and its affiliates have been around many years.

I was looking at them for a purchase. I asked about closing. I was quoted about $1500 for closing, $299 for the Wyndham transfer, and an additional $695 for broker commission. I was told that their sister company, Gateway, could do the closing.
