We have been owners of a one-bedroom red week at Tahoe Sands for over 25 years. We usually exchange for a different resort.
This week we got a call from Tahoe Sands with a special offer.
They are offering us a 2 bedroom red week for $6990. They will waive the yearly maintenance fees for the first year (about $900).
The are also giving us Interval International Gold, which is a purported $3500 value. I checked online and it looks like $153 per year (not including exchange fees).
They will give us 52,000 points for our 1 bedroom and 76,000 points for the 2 bedroom giving us a total of 128,000 points each year for exchanges.
I've seen a couple of resales online for two bedroom prime weeks at Tahoe Sands for $1,000 and $2,000.
I called Tahoe Sands and they said Interval International would not give the same kind of points if we bought a resale and contacted Interval International for an exchange.
Is that true? Is this deal for almost $7,000 a good deal we should take, or is a resale a better bet?
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks
