I am new to the time sharing experience but so far, I've had good luck. Today, I received my invoice for maintenence fees for the Buganvilias in Puerto Vallarta. I was surprised because they listed the fee and then tacked on an additional $84 for "tax". None of my other time shares have this. As a result, thetotal fee ends up being over $600. There was no mention of a tax in my contract when I purchased.

At least for the US based timeshares that I own, whether if is lumped in as a line item in the annual fees, or listed separately, real estate property taxes are assessed on every week I own.

Check you SDO maintenance fees and you will see taxes charged somewhere.

It wouldn't surprise me if something similar was collected in Mexico.

Thank you

Thanks, Art. I clarified with Buganvilias what type of tax this was and they just said general taxes. So, I stay there for my week and still get stuck paying taxes.....
