Today was the day to make Thanksgiving 2012 reservations for Marriott. Naturally, since I'm on the West coast, I wanted to stay under the covers and stay in bed, using my iPad. But it kept having difficulty fully loading the page, so as it got closer to 6:00, I was forced out of bed to use my pc. Ultimately the reservation page successfully loaded on my pc and I was able to make my reservation. (yay)

Here's my question. What causes this? Is safari more likely to get hung up when there is a lot of traffic? Is it slower than Firefox? It's not a big deal, but it could have been if I was on the road trying to do something like this using my iPad. Thanks to anyone who could shed some light on this.

Likely the same deal as why you can't access RCI.com on an iPad. Flash. Or the lack thereof. The website requires it and if you don't have it installed, you are not accessing the site as intended.

I like your thinking and I hate the flash limitation of the apple products. I'm hoping that since adobe is going to stop supporting it, the next product will work better with my ipad! Unfortunately, it has to be something else because I can access the site fine at other times. It seemed to have something to do with the traffic on the site this morning.

Apple has the right idea, but its difficult to have an effective boycott when you have such a small part of the market.

Two solutions ...
EVERYONE refuse to use Flash...:wall:
or
Get Android...:ignore:

Flash does three thinks...
Makes things look fancy...
Makes things difficult...
Makes a lot of money for Adobe...

Flash drules .... HTML5 rules:cheer:
