Anybody been to Breckenridge for Labor Day week? What'd you think? Did you need AC at 10,000 feet? Thanks!

No, we have been to Breck the past 3/4 summers usually in July. Our TS at Valdoro doesn't have A/C and isn't a problem. Just open the windows and use the fans as necessary.

I agree -- if you are fine with the windows open, it will work for you. At this altitude and with the dry air we have, within 15 minutes after the sun sets the temp often drops 10 degrees. The evenings cool off very quickly, and make for some very nice evenings -- you will most likely need a light coat at that time of year (and it can be downright cold there in September).

We typically go to Breck either early June or mid Sept. Most of resorts are below 10,000 ft. Grand lodge has 2 that are at 10,000 feet or above. What thy found was once above 10,000 feet, things warm up in the summer. Grand Lodges on Peak 7 and Grand Colorado on Peak 8 both have AC.

However, in September we don’t find AC is necessary.

Thanks guys - I have a choice to make - Lodge By the Blue in mid August, or Gold Point for Labor Day week. Blue is at 10,000 feet 5 miles south of town, and Gold is at 10,600 feet 2 miles east of town. Not sure which one I'll pick. Any thoughts?
