My wife and I exchanged into the Boston Custom House. Are the accommodations such that I can invite another couple to stay with us?

If they don't mind sleeping on a sleeper sofa, then yes. There is only one king bed in the unit. I wouldn't invite another couple along. I prefer to not have people have to sleep on a sofa bed.

Picture a tiny one-bedroom apartment. Also, the kitchenette is so tiny it is useless. And the bedroom holds a king-bed, but no room for much else. It is a cute apt, but not really meant for 4 adults, unless you are really really close friends.

There is also only one bathroom. Its perfect for 2 adults, but not a second couple.

Given the amazing and historic structure it's in,
the size and layout is as much as one might expect,
but I'll say for the charm and experience, it's perfect!

...but for one couple only.

The master BR is extremely small, as "king" bedrooms go.....it's nice that a king bed even fits. But since we're actively on the go while in Boston, it's fine.
The living room and small dining area is a decent enough size to enjoy the evenings, and definitely adds to the overall enjoyable space, so that's a perk. It's far better than most hotel rooms, and akin to a nice hotel suite.

We'll be back there in early December, and it'll be the third time in Boston in the past 4 years. Can't wait! Already have my dinner reservations (a great line-up), with the exception of 2 uncommitted evenings so we can duck into a couple of random Italian restaurants in North End when we feel hungry.

Absolutely love the walkability to favorite areas from Custom House, and to the T across the street.....about as good as it gets in a major city!

Tante, are you part of the other couple? Hopefully you are joking?

We had a great time at Custom House last Thanksgiving week. Visited family on the holiday, but otherwise spent the week in the city. The room we were in was definitely too small for four adults. I requested one of the 2nd floor units that has the loft sleeping area. It was pretty cool and we could walk down to the lobby without having to take an elevator.

Back before I joined TUG (per TUG) we had a TUG meeting at the Custom House where Fletch and Mrs. Fletch were staying. I took a look at the unit and it was way too small for 4 and pretty tight for 2.
There is still a controversy over who won the mud wrestling match.
