If I borrow 2010 options, I know I have to prepay mf's. But, what happens with the options from that week, which I don't need - do they go to 2009 or do they stay in 2010?

I only need 14,800 options so if the remaining number of points stay in 2010, it isn't really interesting, is it?

Of course I called Elite services - twice. One rep told me I could use them for a 2009 reservation, the other said I could only use them for 2010...

In the Starwood rules it states that you can only borrow the exact number of Staroptions you need for the reservation. The other Staroptions stay in 2010. Go to www.mystarcentral.com for the specific rule.

BTW - I see that you were asking to rent Staroptions. Starwood does not allow Staroptions to be transferred, but you can ask another owner to make a reservation for you and then they can rent you the days or week.

Thanks Denise - I haven't been able to access mystarcentral for some time, I seem to have some problems with my laptop and haven't had the time to look into it. I thought that the remaining options would stay in 2010 but then I was offered to change my reservation for July - using these 2010 options instead of the 2009 options.
That's what got me confused.

In the other post I meant to say that I want to rent the options.

The balance of unused StarOptions from 2010 will remain in 2010.

If you should cancel your reservations in 2009 (which you borrowed from 2010 to book) the StarOptions that you borrowed will go back to 2010 use year and the amount that you still had for 2009 will stay in 2009.
