Up til now I’ve never gotten into the points arena and still use our 3 weeks as occupying or depositing with Interval.

I have a question about using points from converting an enrolled week. Can these points be borrowed and banked or can only pure bought points do this?

Ive read the FAQ and am still confused regarding usage timeframe for converted points, i.e. can they only be used in the usage year?

Thanks.

Yes, Legacy points (those converted in any given year by an enrolled weeks owner) can be borrowed or banked. Points borrowed for a ressy actually go back into their original Use Year if your later cancel that ressy, so you could use them in their original Use Year or borrow them again, as needed. Banked points are stuck into the period you banked them to (they cannot be borrowed or banked again).

Hope that answers your questions.

Just note the limitations
If you cancel your reservation booked with your Vacation Club Points and are due to arrive more than 60 days from the day you cancel, you may do so without penalty.
If you cancel your reservation and are due to arrive 1 to 60 days from the day you cancel, your Vacation Club Points will be returned to a 60 days Holding Account, and can be used for a villa reservation or select Explorer offerings within 60 days of arrival.

If you choose to bank there is a banking deadline depending on your status level.

Borrowing points is easily done automatically when you book.

Just to be clear. Points are points. Enrolled conversion, resale points or Marriott purchased are all the same.

And remember that you can also rent/transfer points from others if you need more, or rent/transfer your own if you have too many.
And you can convert enrolled weeks from upcoming years. So if you wanted a big vacation in 2022 you could bank 2021 points and borrow 2023 poins
You can not do that with banked or holding account.

A few in S and VA, a single resort in NC, MD, PA, and UT, plus Jamaica and the Bahamas
You also need to keep in mind the deadline for electing points and the deadline to bank your points.
