I was browsing travel deals and came across BookingVIP.com. Big banner was flashing special New Year deals. They sounded good, I put some money down for the Morritts Tortuga Club on Grand Cayman. I even called them to verify the deal is for real. Nothing was said on the website or by the rep that this "special" is related to a timeshare presentation. Only after I booked it and went to check my account status I found the mandatory 90 min presentation hiding under "Terms". The deal is still good value, but I have to wonder about the way they lure you in. :annoyed:

Sounds like you will be enjoying a 4+ hour HARD SELL timeshare presentation. Remember, YOU will be in a foreign country ... DO NOT SIGN anything ... thinking you will rescind so as to leave and get out of this very HARD SELL sale's pitch.

Personally, I have gotten to the point in life I rather pay MORE to NOT be subjected to torture and lies by ruthless low-life's.

You have to wonder too about the rep who either (allegedly:rolleyes:) did not know you had to attend the presentation or outright lied to you.

Anyway, the terms do not say you have to buy. They just say you have to attend. Under the terms, what is the penalty for not attending?

Actually they are what got me to Tug in the first place. Several years ago, I attending a presentation at Grandview Las Vegas for the gifts knowing that I would never make such a purchase without a lot of research. I never really followed up on researching, but then saw an advertisement from these folks for an incredible deal. They were very upfront about the fact that I would have to attend a presentation and I paid for the trip and began researching timeshareshares and found Tug. I called them back and cancelled and they were quite pleasant about it but still tried to keep me booked but I just politely refused.

I actually never asked as timeshare thing was not at all mentioned, anywhere, not even in the tiniest print, so it never even occurred to me to ask. So technically he did not lie. Just omitted a critical piece of information.

Been thinking of cancelling. But it's still a great deal a week for 2 people at $350 may be worth it... I would never buy from developer, I have been on this site long enough to know that much. I may just walk out after 90 min.
