I just noticed that there is zero availability at Bonnet Creek and Emerald Grand in June and July tonight when yesterday there was plenty available every day? Did they change something and now it is blacked out like all of May was?

I noticed the same thing today. There are no openings. I was checking yesterday and had several options I was considering and today no openings June or July.

There is a WM posting about no new reservations until August 1.

Looks like it isn't uniform across the board, though it might be that they just haven't finished updating individual resorts. For example, Kingsgate and Patriots Place show availability starting in June. I discovered that by doing a search for availability in Old Town Alexandria for the week of the Fourth of July just to test it out and they came up as alternatives.

I don't think they can open up at full capacity any time soon, so they are blocking new reservations.

That would make sense. hopefully we will learn more during the webinar today.

They just moved the system update by 24 hours. The notice still says that you can book for after May 31.

Yeah, like Wmsburg is a good alternative to Old Town Alex for someone wanting to celebrate the 4th in the Nation's Capital. I've made it from Springfield to Governors' Green in Wmsburg in 1 hour 50 minutes. I might have been exceeding the speed limit by a little. Normal is more like 2-1/2 hours with traffic.

I wouldn't think so either. National Harbor would be more logical, but the system spit them out as alternatives (not characterized as good) for the dates I put in.

The algorithms for finding alternatives need a little tweaking. There was a post here a while ago that someone looking for Newport, RI was sent to some place in Oregon.

Okay, so trying to put this all together -- I have a reservation (2BR Pres) at Bonnet Creek starting 30 May. It's for a guest but if I put the guest's name on a confirmation, the reservation might get canceled. If I wait until the day before check-in to register the guest, there's a possibility that the guest might be denied occupancy. Is that about right?

Oh! And this 7-night reservation is followed by a nine night reservation (to June 15). How does anyone plan?

There was a business trip I had to go on to Bangor Submarine Base when I worked for the Navy; the contracted travel arrangers we had to use did make flight reservations for me to SEATAC, but hotel reservations in Bangor, Maine. Noticed it before I departed when I was looking for driving directions from the airport to the hotel and they came up as taking 48 hours or so. It's not just Wyndham....

There being only two Bangors in the US, it was a coin flip! Murphy won!

My bet is that they will cancel it just for the principle of it even if you wait to add the GC.

I'm keeping one reservation in my name and the other in my wife's name. We'll check into both units and my friends will stay in one unit and my wife and I will stay in the other unit. That's my workaround. No guest certificate to raise a red flag.

I wouldn't bet against it. As it turns out, the important thing for the guests is that their stay END on June 15th. They have a rental for the summer starting June 15. I don't mind holding the May 30 start but I don't think the guests would be terribly upset if it were canceled -- but not while they're trying to check in!

Anyone from Tennessee that can share with me how, your state is doing with the coronavirus? I have a reservation for my family of 16 people at the water park.

So I got an email to cancel my TN reservations in May. My kids didn't want to venture out this soon anyway. So I called in and the representative said that they all would be canceled. So I canceled them and then she came back on the phone and said that they would have been good. But, then the Covid message changed to May 25. The rep did say that my June reservations would be fine (at this moment) but I don't have any guest certificates on anything. I'm aggravated because I am missing 2 nights out of three weeks at Emerald Grande and in the current website state, I'm not going to be able to find those two nights.

Personally I would skip that first part that begins in May. Pools might still be closed. But at least you can cancel it with late notice. I do wish that they would go ahead and extend that cancellation period into June because that 15 day window is going to be coming fast and they won't even have any resorts open so they just don't know what it is going to be like.

If there is a pattern, it is that every two weeks, Wyndham extends the closures for two weeks.

I got an email to cancel my week in DC during Memorial Day. Sucks..l

Sorry @55plus I also had to cancel a 5 day Memorial day trip. I had Pompano beach reservation. It Sucks but better safe then sorry.

I'm currently staying at Oakmont Resort in Pigeon Forge. They opened May 1. It appears Wyndham is stalling for time in opening by blaming local health departments and city officials. Surely all Wyndham properties should not be treated as one size fits all.

I'm beginning to think this delay in opening has a much to do with bugs in the new website than the virus. Maybe they thought the virus cancellations would give them an opportune time to roll out the new website but they ran into problems. If it was about the virus then you'd think that diffrent areas of the country would be able to open sooner. Just a suspicion.

This new website sucks, just trying to look for anything at Emerald Grand. I can't tell it if it NOT open or if there is no availability. There is just no telling.

Does anyone have word on Emerald Grand re-opening date?

Emerald Grande isn't a Wyndham resort. They own 150 condos there, but they have their own management. I don't know when they'll reopen, but I was the last one there. Got kicked out March 24, a couple days before the end of my reservation. Wyndham still hasn't credited me for two nights worth of points.
