Booking with destination club points question

I have a thousand points that will be put into my account the beginning of January. Plus I have a week that can be converted to destination points. Can I book something for 2021 based on the knowledge that I’ll have the 1,000 points? Would I have to covert the 2021 week to points before I book or can I do that at the time I make the reservation?

Unfortunately, 1000 Destination Points is a very low amount and will get you very little time.

You have to elect to convert your enrolled 2021 week into points before September 30th, 2020 (assuming you don't have a bunch of points/enrolled weeks you aren't telling us about).

But assuming you want to use the week as points there is no reason not to elect them now. You would then be free to combine the 1000 points + XXXX points from your week to book a reservation.

The points have to be available when you book but for the time you book. So you would have to elect the points first. You could also borrow trust points from the next UY as well.
