I am getting ready to try and book a week for our Atlantis timeshare we just purchased from a relative. I am curious which has more bang for the buck (rental value) since I cannot use this timeshare til 2013. Does it make sense to try and book over Christmas (12/23 to 12/30) or over New Years Eve (12/28 to 1/4)? Any input is greatly appreciated.

Do not count too much on being able to book any of these two weeks 12 months out. These are sold as fixed weeks and are given to other platinum season owners once the fixed week owners cancel their reservations or fail to confirm 8 months out.

If you can get it - definitely go for New Year's.

I own a week 52 in phase one--no way to get one at 12 months as owners bought those as premium/fixed week/fixed unit.
Even with all float in phase 2 it is my understanding those were also sold as event weeks.
