Lets say I have a reservation for a 2 bedroom (Pres. Suite) for 7 Nights (Sunday 2/21 to Sat. Night 2/27). I then have a Reservation for a 2 bedroom (Pres. Suite) for 4 Nights (Sunday 2/28 Night to Wed Night 3/2). There is now a opening for a 2 bedroom deluxe for 3 nights on 2/29. If I book it and drop the original 4 Night reservation (I know I short myself a day), will it come back up so I can upgrade???
I know about the risk involved, but my question is more about how reservations are held and how the are allotted.......

Thank you.

Yes the cancelled reservation ought to be available to up grade into but maybe not

I think you will have a better chance of success calling to have a VC do it for you

Just talked to a VC. She said that the upgrade will probably not show if I pick different dates and reserve them. She said that the original Pres Suite reservations are standard reservation blocks and can not be broken up.

She did recommend the "cancel/rebook" option, but stated the it is better to do this first thing in the morning on a weekend with a VC.

What is your opinion on this?
