I have a question concerning the 13 month booking period for owners with 2 or more weeks. If you own two weeks at the same resort but different seasons, platinum and gold, can you book the two weeks back to back at the 13 month interval? I'm thinking the last platinum week of season plus the next week in the adjacent gold season.

Absolutely! And with the recent changes to the Marriott reservation process there is no "penalty" to cancel or change one of those reservations later.

Yes, I book that way most every year at SurfWatch with the Gold/Plat weeks that run consecutive over Memorial Day.

The only restriction to using the 13-mos reservation window is that you must book either concurrent or consecutive multi-weeks. If the calendars and what you own line up correctly, then you're not limited to booking the same resort or season.

I don't agree completely. I do agree that Marriott doesn't and hasn't ever enforced the penalties that were and are in the docs. But I disagree that the newer version of the cancelation policy doesn't carry a penalty if you cancel less than all of the reservations you make using the 13-mos window. If ever they decide to enforce it, you now stand to lose an entire Use Year's worth of reservations, whereas before you stood to lose only the multi-weeks booked.

We've been through all this in a few other threads, and ultimately the only thing that matters is whether or not Marriott enforces the restrictions. They didn't before, they don't now.

From Marriott's website.

(iv) Cancellation of Multi-Week Reservations – Removes the requirement to cancel all multi-week reservations when an Owner requests cancellation of a portion of a multi-week reservation.

Yes, the new version removes the requirement to cancel all multi-weeks reservations if the owner cancels less than all. But it also gives Marriott the option to cancel all reservations in a Use Year if the owner cancels less than all weeks booked using the 13-mos window!

Read through the entire document - they removed the requirement to enforce the lesser penalty that was in the old version, but added an option to enforce a more damaging penalty.

But like I said, they never enforced the old version and don't appear to be enforcing the new.
