I'm in the process of rebooking cancelled flights for December:
A. Depart from a local airport with a change in ATL* or...
2. Drive 2 hrs. to a major airport w-N/S flights to the same destination.
... The airfare for #2 is less, but I'd spend the dif on a stay, park+fly hotel.

Conundrum: Use local airport w-stop in ATL or drive 2 hrs. for N/S flights?
<sigh>.

I think only you can make that ultimate decision.

Personally I have taken flights with layovers to fly out of Providence instead of nonstops out of Boston.

Given the current climate I would avoid ATL. How far is the local airport? Its the difference in time that matters .

The local airport is a 20 minute drive. A friend can drop us.
I don't like traipsing thru ATL, but we've done it plenty of times.

The regional airport (MCO) is a stretch down I-75 & the Turnpike.
We've done that plenty of times, too.
