My apologies if this has come up before and I just missed it.

At 12 mos. out I booked my home reort on MSC. Now approximately 3 mos. later, I want to change the dates (still in the home reservation period). I went into MSC and cancelled the original reservation. The SOs show up as restored. However, I can't complete the new reservation. I get this message:

An eligible ownership week is required to complete this reservation. For additional assistance planning your next vacation, please call Owner Services.

I'm assuming if I call in I'll be able to make the reservation, but would prefer to do it all online. Is this how it's working for the rest of you?

Thanks,

Glorian

It shouldn't work like that - when I have cancelled reservations, the week has come back and been available immediately. I'm guessing that part of the system is delayed in recognizing that your week is available again. You may have to call. What resort is it?

It's Westin Lagunamar. Fortunately, I don't think availability is an issue. I just would rather do everything online. :)

I'll try logging in again in a bit and see if the situation changes.

Are you trying to reserve an Event Week - like Christmas/New Years? Or just a regular week.

I've never had an issue canceling and rebooking. The eligible ownership week message appears if you've previously selected that week for a StarOptions reservation and then try to use it as a Home Resort reservation again. Either way, I'm sure Owner Services can get it cleared up for you.

I'm guessing you didn't, but throwing it out there that if you booked something else between the cancel and the rebook it has got the usage mixed up.

That would make sense, but I didn't make a reservation at another resort before trying to rebook my home resort.

I'm sure it's just a glitch, but I would prefer to not have to call in to rebook.

Really? - you don't want to call and have a long winded conversation when you are trying to make a reservation. ;)

Yeah, I really hate having to use the phone for almost anything. Now, I have to remember to call in from work, which I'll probably put off for a few days. At least it's not a high demand week that I'm trying to reserve.
