Ok, I am looking to purchase resale and specifically interested in getting into Bonnet Creek the last part of December. Is there any chance of this happening?

What is the best way to grab the dates if the contracts are not in my name? I will have 2 contracts totaling 308k points, so should be enough points. But, do I have to wait to book until both are in my name (may be too late as that could take a few months). Do I have any other options? What if the old owners booked in their names... what happens to those reservations when they get transferred over? Do they automatically get put into my name?

Can I trade with another owner who books the unit for me, then give them my points once they are available? Would anyone even do that?

Help on this is greatly appreciated. Wyndham is not a simple system, very complex to learn.

No longer possible after March 1. You will not be able to transfer points between account. You may still be able to exchange reservations, but it will cost a Guest Certification. With GC cost $99 to 129, not sure anyone will do that just to help out. The rule may not kill renter, but will sure kill most non-post card reseller.

You can still ask seller to make reservation, and transfer all to you. Not sure if they will need a GC ot not.

If you don't care BC, you should have chance to make reservation after you get them. Not sure about BC, since I don't track it. But it is a big resort, you maybe able to get a few returned one here or there.

If the old owner books the unit in their name, what happens to the reservation once the account turns into my name? Does the reservation stay under the old owner's name, or does the reservation now belong to me, since I am the account owner?

Also, if the old owner has a deposit with RCI already, what happens to that deposit once the account gets transferred into my name? Does the owner keep it (even though they no longer have an active account), does the RCI deposit also transfer to me, or do the points get lost?

This is between you and the seller. Whatever you two agree upon. Usually, if seller let you know it has been deposit to RCI, (s)he should have mentioned what (s0he plan to do with it already.

Not sure, since I am not reseller. I will assume a good % will be get GC since the transfer do take a long time. Although I believe if you have an agreement, a good seller and close company will achieve whatever in that agreement. If you are looking at this year's reservation, chances are it will not matter since you probably does not plan to rent it out.
