I have a Cancun and WMH resale that I requalified and was able to get to 3*.

If I buy a WKV resale and want to book a small 1 bedroom at 12 mo out can I later book a 2 bedroom (or add a premium 1 bedroom to the reservation) by redeeming the additional staroptions from WMH when it gets to be 8 mo out?

Does this make sense? Basically I want to make sure I have a reservation for the week I want but may choose to upgrade the unit size.

I think I have read that this would just be 2 bookings assuming the 2nd unit was available.

Are there any tricks or suggestions when it comes to this?

Yes. But I have been charged cancellation fees recently so I would plan on adding on rather than replacing your original week that you reserve. Otherwise, if the unit is available, you can book it with SOs with no problem at all at the 8 month mark.

I'm not sure I exactly get what you are asking, but:

You want to book a small one bdm. at WKV using your WKV resale at 12 mos. and then at 8 mos. you want to use developer WMH Staroptions to reserve the other side of the lock-off so you have a 2 bdm.

1) You aren't guaranteed to be able to connect two separate reservations - but you probably can.

2) Also, there is no guarantee that the week you want will still be available at 8 mos. out, but I'd be surprised if it wasn't.

When you make the 2nd Resv. have your Resv. No. for the first unit handy and ask them right then to link the 2 Reservations.

No tricks in doing it. But instead of adding on to my first reservation, I'd call at 8 mos and ask if a 2 bdrm was avail. Then I'd cancel my first and book a 2 bdrm. Otherwise you might end up with 2 rooms.

At other properties, timestamp is really important for view. Not so much at WKV although some buildings are better than others.
