Our Bonvoy "free" night is scheduled to terminate in June 2020.
Our plan was to utilize the free night in March... but the COVID-19 situation shut everything down.
Is anyone in the same situation ?
I wanted to request an extension but calling on the phone is a never-ending "waiting" game.
I sent a request via the MVCI website and... hopefully I'll receive a response.
The website says it may take up-to 7 days for a reply

TIA

Doug

Ours expires in August and now I’m thinking we will not get to use it. The one we have is from having the credit card. It’s only worth 35,000 points anyway and I’m finding most nights are more points than that! Let us know if you get an extension. Maybe I’ll ask too.

Ours are also from our Credit-Card.
We've always been able to get accommodation under the Marriott-Rewards system... from what I've been told, 35,000 points is an 'upgrade' from what M-Rewards offered.
I think you should also request an 'extension' (squidest wheel gets the most oil)

Cool !
What did you have to do to get that extension ?

Also... does that mean you'll have two "free" hotel stays,
one that they extended till April 2021
and your 'normal' one that I assume expires in April 2021?

I find this problematic as well (especially after the peak point pricing) and really takes away from the value of the credit card.

Yes, I now have two of that type of certificate (it's the 25K one from the older card).

To extend I just called and requested an extension at the Marriott Rewards number (800-321-7396). Like someone said - they were supposed to extend automatically to Jan 2021 but mine didn't (perhaps because it was tied up in a reservation I eventually canceled).

I get 2 Free-Nights each year.
Bonvoy Boundless VISA = 35K-Points
Bonvoy Brilliant AMEX = 50K-Points

Since my wife has her own cards she get 2 each.
Agree that the 35K does not pull much these days. Prefer the 50K-Certificate.

All our 2019 certificates were extended to JAN-31-2021.

We have 5 nights from a air/miles package purchase which will expire in August. Anyone know if those were extended?

I had already booked mine, and to extend it I just called the hotel and changed it to a later date.

Free night awards should be extended till 1/2021 due to COVID19
I can see the updated expiration date in the Bonvoy app.

Tahoe:
I don't have a Bonvoy app...
Went into my online account (Marriott.Com)
saw the extension-message
but wasn't able to locate my free night to verify it was extended.

Might you know where/how I can view it ?

It should be on the “Activity” page on the drop down menu.

What do I need to do?
You don't have to do anything to extend FNA or SNA.
They are automatically extended by Marriott.

Where can I find the Certificates?
You can't see the certificates if they have been associated with an existing reservation.
You will need to find the existing reservation and remove the "Certificate" from the reservation for it to show up immediately under your Profile->Overview.
Wish Marriott will fix the profile to show all certificates [used or unused] with Status + Expiry-Date + Reservation-# [if used].

Removing/Adding A Certificate
There is no need to call up Marriott to remove/add a certificate to a reservation.
This can be done online and is effective instantly.

The Activity-Page is an absolute nightmare.

Each time I cancel or add something it is simply an Audit-Trail [+/-] with no context.

Yes, mine was extended to that date as well. There have been earlier threads regarding this that Marriott announced everyone had their expiration date extended to that date.

Thank You CA Richard and everyone else who responded to my query.

Now let's shoo COVID-19 outta here so I can get back to timesharing and cruising.
