Bonnet Creek- Tower 6 reopening delayed

Renovation of Tower 6 fell slightly behind, and the reopening has been delayed. That tower contains the 1br presidential, 2br presidential, and 3br presidential units. Any reservations scheduled for this week will be reassigned to deluxe units- most likely in Tower #3. Towers 4 & 5 are open to guests, but the resort will also be using Tower 3 to accommodate overflow reservations caused by the Tower 6 closure and to help reduce overall occupancy of the other two towers. The latest update shows they hope to have Tower 6 available to guests this upcoming weekend.. I don't believe any notifications are being sent to inform impacted guests, but for those who do complain about the issue to the front desk- a point reimbursement equal to the difference between the presidential and deluxe units should be provided. There are 4br presidential units outside of Tower #6, so those reservations should not be impacted.

I'm confused, why would PIC make a difference on if you can upgrade from 1 bed deluxe to 2 bed pres?

upgrade paths appear to vary by resort. some will let you go from a one-bedroom to a presidential while others may not. Using PIC doesn't change that or make it easy or difficult. it's the same as any other VIP.

I was told that it would mostly impact 4 PR. Reservations can be moved or downgraded. If you don't want to chance a downgrade, avoid the larger PR.

I think that she is looking for silver owners who have had success upgrading at 30 days. I'm not silver but I do a lot of stays in the 14 day window. Everything usually upgrades but HK would get you because I piece my stays together last minute.

I can get a 2 deluxe when I book a 1 deluxe resale if i call and request it. The majority of bonnet creek is 2 bedrooms so it's often still given to me even though I'm resale. I often see a 1 deluxe and 2 pres available together 30 days out. I just dont know if it will upgrade like that if I book at 30 days out. That would be a real benefit for me if I wanted to fork over the 15k to PIC to silver a few years down the road. I would never make a retail purchase without 2 low MF PICs.

Also being at Reunion right now makes me wish I didnt have to juggle housekeeping credits. I can only book here once a year, but with WM resale I can also stay weekdays for $122 plus tax during the summer using bonus time, which includes housekeeping.

I haven't tried it at BC, but generally when I've seen two sizes available at 45 days (VIPG upgrade window), I've been able to get the upgrade instantly. If you're already getting a 2 BR for a 1 BR reservation, I'm not sure I see the reason to invest 15K. If you do it right, though, the cost of PIC points can be quite low, beating Bali Hai and Canterbury. Plus you could use the same TS for Exchange Plus on the WorldMark side.

Yea I was looking at 3 bedrooms at Massenutten a while back. I think they're around $650 a year. I would definitely give WM resale a go first to see if BT was good for Reunion.

35 years old is still pretty young for a first time retail purchase isnt it? I turn 31 in a few days. I imagine I would get at least 35 years of use out of it if I ever did it. My husband starts his new job Monday =D

My personal preference is a 4 BR LO CWQ as a PIC rather than a 3 BR. I believe the 3 BRs at Massanutten are Shenandoah Villas, which only trade in RCI and can blu be used as 3 BR units; you could pick up a couple of 4 BR LO CWQ weeks to use as PIC Plus weeks that could be split up to make 4 2 BR red weeks for Exchange Plus w/WM or exchanged in II for premier/elite resorts. MF is ~$850 per 4 BR LO week, but the flexibility is better and you have a choice between 508K Wyndham points or 32K WM credits plus 4 HK tokens. So far I’ve got two Vista Encantada 3 BR weeks, a Grand Luxxe 3 BR and a 2 BR Westin Los Cabos using mine (paying for the room upgrade fee for the 3 BRs using a 2 BR week each time). Did some due diligence and saw what others were able to exchange into with theirs.

I think the issue would be exactly that there are so many 2BR deluxe at Bonnet Creek, it might be hard to force the 1 deluxe to 2 Pres because there's probably also going to be a 2 deluxe available.

Agree. Unless it has changed with the newest system, and with my limited experience thus far with the new system, the upgrade path at Bonnet Creek is 1 Bedroom (Presidential or Deluxe) -> 2 Bedroom Deluxe -> 2 Bedroom Presidential -> 3 Bedroom Deluxe -> 3 Bedroom Presidential -> 4 Bedroom Presidential. The Deluxe will 'get in the way' of the presidential. I don't often see only a 1 Bedroom Deluxe and 2 Bedroom Presidential available, but if that is all there were it would upgrade as such.

Back in the day, a 1 Bedroom Deluxe would upgrade to a 1 Bedroom Presidential or a 2 Bedroom Deluxe to a 2 Bedroom Presidential, etc, but we lost that with Voyager.

There are some resorts (Myrtle Beach Ocean Boulevard or Panama City Beach, for example) that offer multiple upgrade options (seems like the next 2 levels of available upgrades) but Bonnet Creek does not.

Personally, I wish Wyndham would define upgrade paths more specifically, but feel that's a battle we lost with Voyager and there are so many other things going on, the upgrade paths (and loss of some of them) seems accepted these days and I don't see much complaining about it anymore. Another casualty of Voyager.

Just so I understand, you're a resale owner, i.e. no VIP benefits. But you're able to obtain free upgrades to a larger unit just by calling the resort? Or do you call the Wyndham reservation line?

I was 28 when I first purchased. I've seen some purchase younger. God willing, I could see myself easily getting 40 years' worth of usage out of it. It's an even better value if you're kids take it over because they will get more use out of it.

Congrats on his new job! BTW, WM has an inventory special for Reunion for July and August right now, midweek only (Sun-Thurs). That's a bit better than BT for the pricing.

I've only done it at Bonnet Creek when they were at low occupancy. I call the reservation line to request it. I don't know until I get to the resort if its upgraded. If it is, I offer the room to my extended family. It works for my situation since I'm from Tampa. It could work too if you only have 2 children and can just have them sleep on the pullout if it doesnt upgrade.

I'm going to try it at Palm Aire next summer with a studio. As soon as I have Worldmark, I'm going to stop using my Club Wyndham points at Reunion, it eats through all my housekeeping credits. I do notice Reunion is almost on inventory special and bonus time. That's also why I want a small WM account.

Reunion is so much more fun than Bonnet Creek in my opinion. My daughter loves the water park. Shes finally at that age where she has the courage to go down the big slides at the water feature. Bonnet Creek doesnt have as good amenities for kids.

How much does a Mon-Fri reservation cost with tax? Reunion only has a red season.

Not sure about the tax, but it's $504 for the credits at $.072 for the inventory special rate. I went as far along in the booking process as the last step for a Mon-Fri in July without finishing it. They have tons of availability there this summer.

I thought BT was 7.2 cents as well. I calculated each night as 1.7×72=$122.40 plus tax. Is $502 with tax?

It's actually 1750/night, not 1700, so it comes to $504. Not really sure about taxes; the notes at the end didn't say any would be charged and the final due it came up with was $504. You're right, though; BT is 7.2; I was thinking of the Monday Madness pricing.

I upgrade from a 1BR to a 2BR Presidential quite frequently, even when there is a 2BR Deluxe also available. I have one at Bonnet Creek that upgraded from 1BR to a 3BR Presidential -- gave me a choice of 2BR Pres or 3BR Pres.

Ahh okay sorry l was doing it from memory. Reunion is also usually 35% off during week 22, the first week of summer in FL, which is high season for Club Wyndham. If you stay Sun-Fri its 16,900 points per night or 84,500 total. That's where I run into HK credit issues lol. I could always add Fri and Sat, but it's too pricey for me as a local, especially since those are the days my husband usually has to physically go into work to fix server issues. Usually I rent out 224,000 points and 154 HK credits every year so I have 70 extra HK credits to cover it, but with WDW closed, the rental market sucks.

I want to try adding Palm Aire to my rotation and see if I can book a studio and get a free upgrade to a 1 bedroom by calling the reservation line. They're never fully occupied in the summer and you can still use the beach access and tiki bar at royal vista. Studios only use 28 HK credits.

trying to understand upgrade feature at bonnet creek. I made a reservation for a 1 bed pres. 68,000 pt. -- couple days later email tells me congratulation your reservation has been upgraded to a 1 bed presidential-again it is what I had booked. When booking I did have one of three choices for upgrade--PR unit-larger suite or don't change. I chose PR. In past reservations I think that it will say 1 bed PR upgraded. I may be wrong on this and was just looking for clarification if it has happened to anyone else. I know that upgrades are not guaranteed but with the 15 day approaching I am wondering if since the system has said that it is upgraded if that would take me out of chance to get the PR unit even if only a 1 bed PR. Customer care did not know the answer but said could see my point since 1 bed pres booked is not being upgrade to 1 bed pres. I was also able to book a 1 dlx (50,400 pts) and it instant upgrade to 1 pres. Have family going with us, and in my mind why would I spend more points to get the exact same unit. Experience anyone???
