Dang, I was hoping someone would have some advice here, too. I feel bad I don't do anything with any of the proxy ballots I get. Any insight appreciated. Do they matter?

Generally, the proxy ballots I have received (for Glacier Canyon and Bali Hai) are to elect board members. While one person's vote won't make a big difference, you do have the opportunity to select the individuals you desire to sit on the HOA, and it can make a difference. You do not have to choose a proxy, rather just allow the management company representative be your proxy. They are lawfully bound to vote the way you indicate in the ballot you return. I would suggest filling it out via computer to save postage, since this is paid for through maintenance fees.

They do have to get enough proxies/owners present at the annual meeting to conduct business. In the unlikely event they did not have enough proxies returned to reach a quorum, it would require a second meeting date to be set and re-mailing the proxies out, all at an additional cost to the owners/HOA.

I know for South Shore and Smoky Mountains boards, I vote to try and keep independent candidates on the boards rather than Wyndham employees.

Speaking as a neighborhood HOA board president, please return them just to at least have a quorum.

That's what I do. I never know any of the slate of directors so I just send it in to help with the quorum call.

I'm surprised any of you own at BC... expensive MF and really no reason to own there for ARP. At least when the website is working and doesn't show 3 months of phantom bookings

Try to book a 4BR Presidential unit for the week before Easter ten months before check-in.

I guess if you have that really niche need, then sure, you pay for that. I think I would get 2x 2BR Deluxe units inside 60 days and save a ton of points and have more space, and more importantly, separation.

To each his own.

Addendum: I booked a 2BR Deluxe unit for the same dates. That's so my wife and I can be there at the same time as our guests. That's Wyndham policy so it's okay, right?

So change that for next year, and convince a woman owner to run for a board seat!
