2628 LAUREL CREST LANE
PIGEON FORGE, TENNESSEE 37863
865.428.8570

In the foothills of the Smoky Mountains lies Bluegreen's Laurel Crest, a cozy country haven less than a mile from the action of Pigeon Forge, but far enough away to offer rest and relaxation. We've used this and other Bluegreen resort locations and have enjoyed them but it's time to release the week for better use by other vacationers.

5000 annual Bluegreen Vacation Club points for fixed week 50 trades within Bluegreen Vacation Club resorts or can trade/exchange with RCI for access to hundreds of other resorts.

5000 points for 2011 were not used and saved for 2012.

First Year Available for your use is 2012 with maintenance fees and vacation dues paid by seller for a completely free 2012 use up to the annual September 30th expiration date when the next 5000 points are earned and become available. Note: The eligible saved bonus week points are for year 2012 use in Red, White and Blue seasons prior to annual expire date of 9/30/2012.

Annual Maintenance fee $545.00 (due annually around November) is paid by seller for 2012 up to the annual September 30th expiration (when the next 5000 points are earned and become available). Property tax is included in maintenance fee. 2012 vacation club dues of $129 already paid.

Closing and transfer fee will be paid by seller for absolutely no cost to you the new owner.

Property is deeded perpetual ownership.

Thanks for looking,
Jim

Ok, I realize that I am new to this whole timeshare thing - using, buying, trading, etc. but I've had one transferred from my dad and am now looking to acquire another (or two) - my question is what's the catch? Or am I just so nervous about things that I would miss out on a good deal even it jumped up and bit me??

Is this timeshare tradeable or bankable with a place like RCI or II? Why are you giving it away and paying all the fees?

There are many reasons why timeshares are just given away! Sometimes the owner cant afford the MF's, change in job, kids grow up and they dont vacation like they used too, own too many weeks. Everyones reason is different but what I can tell you that most (not all) timeshares have very little resale value. I could understand why you would be skeptical! You may want to join TUG for the $15 annual fee there is a wealth of knowledge here. I got 2 free TS here from fellow TUGGER without spending a dime. Welcome to TUG

Also make sure you read up on how to protect yourself in this type of transaction. Things like asking for an estopple letter will give you some extra assurance. Usually there isnt a catch! A TS that isnt paid in full cant be transfered. I do see the person who posted this ad is a guest with 1 post to their credit (not that there is anything wrong with that) but I would look to someone who is experienced.

Thanks for the info - I did just join TUG - I figure I've learned more here in the past 24 hours than in the last 45 years so the money is well spent! I'm just a skeptical person about this kind of stuff I guess. Timeshares are one of those things - they fit some people perfectly and others not at all - I think for us it'll be a perfect fit - I love the thought of having a vacation a couple of times a year that's pretty much paid for (minus the extra fees) and we can pick the same place or go anywhere in the world almost whenever we want to! I have family that might be interested in going to places like this one advertised here - we're from the frozen north of Canada and I want tropical - beaches, surf, snorkeling, etc. that's why I would be interested if it's a tradeable one!

Hi nstampqueen,
Sorry I haven't replied sooner but I've been super busy at work this week and only now got around to checking the messages. We've owned the week out-right since we purchased it years ago. Deed is paid in full. As I mentioned, we've used it during the years but with kids grown the wife and I are less inclined to travel and are staying closer to home. It's been fun but we've decided to go ahead let someone else use the services since lately we don't seem to.

As natasha5687 mentioned, timeshares usually don't have a resale value unless they're some really high demand unit with lots of points/time alotted to them as far as I can tell. The incentive to "give it away" is to have someone that wants to make use of it go ahead and take over the ownership going forward and to pay the annual dues, etc. since we're no longer using it.

I'm pretty new to TUG forum (hence guest) but since I hopefully won't be a timeshare owner much longer I don't see why I would need to be a member. If joining would help with services (such as reselling, etc.) then I'll join. Basically I'll need to enlist an agent (I've seen some references on TUG) to handle the transfer transaction and I'll pay the closing costs, etc. So, if interested let me know and I'll get the ball rolling.

Thanks for looking,
Jim

Oh, forgot to add in my other reply about your question of being tradeable. Absolutely! That's the way we've mostly used it although we did stay at the unit itself and it was pretty nice. Enjoyed the mountain area in October a couple of years ago during our anniversary time. With Bluegreen we trade through RCI although I'm trying to remember if we used II also. (We had another timeshare with Festiva and I think they used II). Anyway, yes the unit is tradeable through RCI but you have to "book" the points with them and there's an extra fee to do that. $50? more? I'll have to check. Since Bluegreen has so many beach options we've always found a place to stay up and down the East coast from Carolinas to South Florida so lots of warm climate options within Bluegreen itself without having to go through RCI if that's what you're looking to mainly use timeshare for.

Thanks for the update - I would still be interested - send me a pm and we can discuss it more - I would be trading it for either the Caribbean or Mexico so it would have to be through RCI then.

Send me a message when you have the time! Thanks!

Sent you a PM with info if you're still interested. I'm checking out "Legal Timeshare Transfers" to see if they handle this type of transaction.
thanks,
Jim

If you are a reg user of bluegreenonline.com you will find a form on there that allows for transfer of ownership the transfer fee is $250 .
When you transfer your points please remember it will only come with bonus time at your home resort (and these points would not count to any premier status if sometime in the future you wanted to increase your ownership and premier status), in other words that is the only place you will be able to use Bonus Time. In addition to the MF there is a fee of $129 (club dues) this pays the RCI membership and the cost of the reservation centre.
As from Jan 1st 2011 you no longer make a reservation with Bluegreen and then deposit with RCI, it now works with a direct interface into RCI.
I am not sure what 5000 BG points will get you but to be honest it is not very many points. If you use them within Bluegreen then at some of the older resorts you will get a good deal mid week, however the newer resorts take a lot more points . For example a peak week at The Fountains in Orlando (ex oasis lakes bought by BG in 2003) takes 16000 points but if you want to go to New York then 5000 points gets you 1 night and since you have to book 2 nights or more then thats 2 years points taken up.
I understand that Jim is giving it away but I am sure he would want the new owner to be fully on board.

Thanks for the info smithiekid. I'm all for providing info up front but don't claim to be a timeshare points expert. We've used our 5000 points mainly for Bluegreen resorts within our points limit although a time or two have "borrowed" points from the upcoming year. Didn't always go on vacation every year anyway. Also I believe there may be the ability to buy points from Bluegreen to add to what you have to make a reservation work. Thanks for the transfer document link. I'll need to take care of that for anyone wanting the points.
