Bluegreen Vacations Rescission

Hi! Bought my Bluegreen Vacations timeshare in Tennessee on Apr 22, 2023 so well within the 10-day rescission period. Had a few questions:

  • I received 40k Choice points and a $100 gift card as a gift just for attending the presentation, am I correct in assuming I do not need to return these? (Not even sure how I would return the points)
  • I was promised another 80k points on purchasing the timeshare, do I need to do anything about these or will they just automatically be removed after my cancellation goes through?
  • Nowhere in my contract do I see what the rescission letter needs to contain. I did post a template earlier and received some feedback but wanted to make sure it complies with the contract, is there a place I can find a template for Bluegreen Vacations in Tennessee?
  • My contract states I may cancel by e-mail, so I already did but will also be sending certified mail as suggested by a user on here. I am curious though, is there a way an email cancellation would not be legally binding despite being mentioned in their contract as a legitimate mode?
  • I read on here I should be sending them a copy of the title contract page, what does this page look like exactly? I see several potential candidates.

Thanks all of you for your help with this!

Don't worry about the email issue if you are planning to mail your rescission via Certified USPS Mail (it's the only way I would ever consider rescinding myself). What's important with the USPS is they supply you with an Official Government Postmark and a tracking number (be sure to retain). Make sure that whatever buyer who has signed the purchase agreement has also sign the rescission paperwork.

Your rescission is very simple; just tell them you changed your mind, period.

Title contract page? Make a copy of everything they gave you and mail them the copy. Done!

They have no obligation to acknowledge receipt of your rescission paperwork, they do however need to act on it per state law. Allow 45 days.

Smart move to rescind. Welcome to TUG......

If there are any others listed on the timeshare contract, make sure they sign it as well. Congrats on rescinding, it's a good feeling to get that mistake behind you.

Congratulations on rescinding! Welcome to TUG, and I hope you find all the information you need right here. Like you, I bought Bluegreen, found TUG, and rescinded in time. WHEW! I then spent months researching and discovered that other systems suited me and my family much better. We're now happy Marriott and Wyndham owners.

Best of luck and hope to see you around.
