Black out dates - Interval International

I had a request in for Harborside. I modified dates for another resort and then received the message below. Anyone ever come across this before?

Paradise Island, Nassau, BAHAMAS
Check-in Date: April, 02 2009 | Check-out Date: April, 12 2009
Harborside at Atlantis • HRA

This request has to be removed because of the following reason(s):resort blackout dates

and received the following message (cut/pasted here):

The following resort(s) are unavailable during the dates requested, or based on your relinquishment and have been removed from your request: HRA

I think they're being honest in not taking your money -- there's no way Starwood would ever deposit those weeks.

Except that some folks add such "impossible" matches to meet the minimum three resorts/three weeks requirement. For example, if you really just want one resort for one week for, say, a request-first search, you can add Christams and New Years at Westin St. John's to get you to three.

Starwood ( who run the Harborside), controls all weeks that are deposited into II. Therefore they can say to II that there are some weeks that will never be deposited into II. ( ie blackout date)

Most resorts, in which a owner can reserve and deposit any week that they own, will not have blackout dates.
