Black Friday / Cyber Monday Airfare Deals?

Need to go coast to coast in March. Been watching airfares for my route for a couple months, and they've been going up. Think I may have missed my window.

Hence my question -- are there typically any Black Friday or Cyber Monday deals on domestic trips any more? Am I better off buying at the current prices? Or wait a few weeks to see if they come down? At this point, I'm inclined to the latter. But if so, which day to target before I bite the bullet? Black Friday? Cyber Monday? Travel Tuesday?

Thanks.

Book and then rebook if the prices go down.

Would need to book refundable airfares, which tend to be quite a bit more costly.
No you don’t. Any portion refunded would be returned as a flight credit or travel wallet which you could use on a future flight. I fly a lot so I use up my flight credits easily.

It depends on what type of ticket/airline you buy. For example, a basic economy United flight will result in some loss of cancelled after the initial 24 hrs have passed.

If you book and then change a Southwest flight you do not need to cancel and re-book. You can just change your flight very easily online.

Is that only with Southwest Airlines?

Wow, I guess it's been so long since I've flown a legacy airline, I didn't even realize this. I thought any economy class fare was non-refundable and non-changeable. Thanks for the info. I'll look into this.

I'm a long-time fan of SWA. It's comprised most of my air travel the last decade or two. Unfortunately, it's not really a candidate for this trip, because (a) it has very inconvenient schedules for my city-pair, and (b) their fares have gone up so much that they're non-competitive for this trip.

Thanks, all!

I only fly United and SW (well also Jet Blue but just to JFK). I also just found out that with United you can also change your flight online as well. I don't know if they have always had this feature or not.

I fly Southwest, Alaska and United I like Alaska because your travel credit goes into your wallet which can be used for anyone. Most airline credits go to the actual passenger who’s name the ticket was booked under.

Southwest has always had the rebook policy. The other airlines adopted it during the Rona and claim they’re going to keep it that way.

Cyber Monday and Travel Tuesday flight deals from the Points Guy 2024. I'm thinking about cancelling one leg of a trip to redo with the deal. Update, I checked and the price we took 10 months ago is way better than the cyber deal. There are some fantastic deals to places I'm not heading to, lol.

I just checked the Cyber deal for SW. The reduced price was more than what I had already paid for a flight for March 2025.
