I just paid my maintenance fees. For our one week at Grande Ocean and our two weeks at Aruba Ocean Club, I paid a staggering amount of $4,422.86. Wow! And, I realize that I will have an assessment fee in April for our two weeks at AOC. However, I rented one of our weeks at AOC club for $2,500. And, I locked off the other unit and deposited it with Interval. I was given an AC certificate. I was able to book Barony Beach in Hilton Head for March 6 - 13 with the AC. I had to pay $325.91 for the week. Also, I exchanged into Grande Ocean for March 13 - 20th. My husband and I will have two weeks back to back in Hilton Head. I am booked to go to our home resort in Hilton Head...Grande Ocean in May. So, even though I feel very strongly that Marriott has not been on the "up and up" with the excessive fees and assessment fees on our AOC units, I have been able to apply the $2,500 towards the fees. And, I will have three weeks of vacation in Hilton Head.

Just a few pennies under $750 for each of your 3 weeks of vacationing in Hilton Head, too.

Did okay ...

I'm glad to hear someone else feels this way. We bought MVCI to have quality travel experiences to share with friends and family. My net present value calculations since purchase show that, as a long-term Aruba owner, we are "in the black" by several thousand dollars. (Waiohai will take more years!) If we wanted cheap, we would have bought cheap. Let's maintain the caliber of the resorts.
