Is Biloxie someplace someone would go to in the summer and if not summer when would be the most popular time to go? Is it a family destination or more or an adult destination?

I would think Biloxi would be like much of south in the summer, hot and humid. For instance today the temp is 92 degrees with 52% humidity. I would think there would be better times of the year to go.

Kind of more an adult thing, with the casinos and all. Best time to go is late fall. Spring can be pretty wet.

So kind of like Atlantic City. No one goes for the beach?

I'm trying to remember....the beach doesn't seem like it was much of a thing whenever I went there.

The beaches are small and the water is brown, not the best place to go for beaches. If Casino's are your thing you would like it.

Pretty much agree with previous. Fall is best time of year; beaches are pretty much a zero; casinos a plus if you like them; history of area is a plus; and food is a small plus.

Grew up on the Gulf Coast, so I know a lot about Biloxi. Late Fall should be a good time to go. Forget the beaches here and head for Orange Beach, AL instead for some of the prettiest beaches anywhere. Very, very few good, local seafood places here anymore since the casinos moved in. Try Cosmos and Docs Seafood Shack in Orange Beach for great seafood. The Original Oyster House on the Causeway in Mobile is also very good.

It is best to stay out of the water in Biloxi. Generally very high bacterial counts that the EPA considers unsafe. They just had a big sewage leak a week ago and some of the beach areas were closed and likely are still closed. It is not the first time that this has happened.

MS averages about 3 sewage spills a year into their beaches.

I spent a year there at Keesler AFB, from Apr72-Apr-73, and it was the same then so nothing has changed. This was after hurricane Camille devastated the area, so they blamed it on that, said all the debris was bulldozed into the water. I went to the beach a lot but stayed out of the water, the storm drains emptied about 100ft into the water. If we wanted to swim in the ocean we drove east to Dauphin Island.
