‘The bed and breakfasts, short-term rentals and time-shares are spread out throughout the island, with many of them within residential communities, and many of their occupants, who are visitors, possibly not complying with the governor’s proclamations to self-quarantine for 14 days at their place of stay,” said Kim in a statement today.

Therefore, all specified businesses including advertising must stop operations, he added. Current occupants may stay until the end of their pre-booked period.” Star Advertiser report on mayor’s order.

Mayor Harry Kim is basically saying no more additional renting. If your time is up, you can’t roll over Into new weeks.

Aloha. Just read the news article also. Marriott Waikoloa called me a week ago and canceled our 8 day stay starting next Saturday 4/18. Said they were closing. Also our stay at Waiohai the following week and followed by KoOlina. Haven't canceled airfare yet, Hawaiian SFO-HNL-KOA and United HNL-SFO mid-May. Holding off for refunds not credits.

I believe SFO-HNL is one of the few routes Hawaiian is still flying... at least when this article was written:

Yes, I know. First they said LAX, but then added SFO. They have changed times and flight # for interisland and canceled nonstop KOA-LIH, so that little one should refund for sure. The rest, I just am waiting to the end of the week.

No. Marriott Waikoloa Vacation Club Resort was not accepting any arrivals as of March 30. Then Marriott told me I would not be able to go to locations 2 and 3, Waiohai and KoOlina. They were not accepting arrivals.

I have read that just about all of KoOlina is shut down, including Aulani. Only a couple of restaurants open for takeout and delivery.
