I'm quite sure that Ebay seller tttimeshares has been discussed here on the TUG forums in the past but I cannot locate any threads using the TUG search feature. I am on vacation now and do not have access to the files on my home computer where I have kept track of "problem sellers" mentioned in previous postings. I think he or she is one of them but am not sure.

FWIW, there was an Ebay auction that ended last night #380047181791.
The information in the description contained very inaccurate information. I sent an Email to the seller 7 hours before the end of the auction pointing out the problems and asking him to clarify for me (and other bidders) exactly what he was selling.

He lists the item as a 2 bedroom 2bath unit at the Ft. Lauderdale Beach Resort (Week 10, Unit 804) which has been converted to 38,500 RCI Points. But the maintenance fees quoted, and the number of RCI Points indicate that it must be a one bedroom unit. I know this because I own several weeks at this resort. But to be 100% sure, I called the resort and confirmed that the unit was in fact a one bedroom.

The seller never replied to my Email nor did he make the necessary corrections. Nowhere in his long rambling ad does he provide a phone number where he can be reached.

So the person who won this auction may be shocked to learn that it's a one bedroom unit, not two bedrooms. If this matters to him, I hope he finds out before too much time is wasted and/or his money is tied up for an inordinate period of time. It's a great deal if he doesn't care about the unit size. I would have bid much higher if the correct information was in the ad. But I didn't want to get tangled up with such a careless, unresponsive seller.

While I believe that the example you give is accurate and by no means unusual, I don't believe anyone needs to have anymore concern with eBay seller ttimeshare than the others out there.

I've purchased more than one excellent timeshare deal from ttimeshare and all went smoothly. What's important is that you check and make sure everything is accurate and what you expected along the way until you are the recognized new owner. You need to do this regardless of who you purchase from.

I couldn't agree with you more that it's frustrating when you cant get questions answered by the seller while the auction is running and ttimeshare is probably one of the worst at responding.

However, you new the ad was incorrect without the response. That is one of the greatest skills someone can master when shopping on eBay, with this purchase it saved you some wasted time by passing on the item. Had the situation been reversed..... say the ad listed information indicating a 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom yet you new the unit had to be a 2 bedroom and 2 bath lock-off presidential suite you would likely have have found a GREAT BUY.

While incorrect ads can be frustrating they can also represent the BEST OPPORTUNITIES to make a GREAT PURCHASE on eBay. Even at eBay's below low prices this can mean a savings of thousands of dollars.

This reminds me of the ebay auction I looked at the other day and it looked attractive until the seller touted that it was located in Princeville, FLORIDA!:hysterical:
While there may be a Princeville, FL, I've never heard of it, and the ad was in the Hawaii section of ebay timeshare sales.

It is fairly common that an eBay ad for a timeshare is going to have fundamental mistakes. That is why any bidder needs to do their due diligence to ensure they know exactly what they are bidding on. Given that, I don't understand why you are concerned that an email was not responded to within 7 hrs and why you would expect someone to post their phone number in an eBay ad. Quite frankly, I was pleasantly surprised that the phone number for the closing company was posted.

TTTimeshare Ebay Seller

Does anyone know about TTTimeshare on Ebay. I won an auction for a Wyndham timeshare with Oct. Maintenance fee upfront but the invoice that does not go through ebay says goods with no description. Is this normal? The invoice does go through Paypal. Also, Ebay told me that timeshares are not sold on Ebay that I won an advertisement. That really made no sense to my blonde brain. There are no closing or transfer fees and I only paid 1.00 but I still don't know about sending 500.00 for "goods."

If you won an auction for $1 and there's no closing fee, why do you pay $500?
Pay just $1. That's all you owe to them. I don't think they will give you a refund for $499 later.
The whole invoice doesn't make any sense to me.

They want reimbursement of the maint. fee that has been paid. Since you will have use this year you have to pay the maint. fee.

I purchased a Cape Cod Timeshare from them for a $1.00 all closing costs included. There ad stated they wanted re-imbursement of the 2009 maint. fee which I paid them plus the $1.00.

The deed came through okay and I enjoyed my holiday last summer and looking forward to going back this summer.

I purchased through them and they were good. There were two minor issues but both were resolved quickly and with little effort.

The first issue was that a signature was missing so Wyndham couldnt process it and the second was they shorted the "maintenance fees paid through end of 2010" They made good on both errors and new timeshare was finalized in my name well before the time frame they originally told me. only took 6 weeks approx. and most of that time was due to wyndham being slow.

I did due diligence on the listing and easily found their Phone number and called a few times to get a time line for completion as well as progress reports. They were very helpful.

No problems here

I have also purchased from them with no problems and have had many situations were timeshare listings had several errors by other ebay sellers and I sent them an email which resulted in a change in the ad or just a response to me answering any questions.

I don't recall if the week I purchased from tttimeshare had any incorrect information in their ad but I do remember that the transaction went through in a reasonable amount of time with no problems.:)

I think most of the postcard companies use templates for their listings. Sometimes it looks like pieces of a prior listing have been left in the new listing.

As the saying goes, S**t happens :) Due diligence, due diligence, due diligence!

Not to mention the eBay listing is nonbinding

You are free to walk away for any reason

If after the auction time period closes and the verified facts are different than the listing you are justified to walk away without any remote feelings of guilt or remorse

Money

They charge $500 in closing costs which is bogus but it should have been in the ad

They are reliable sellers. I have purchased through them twice and they were very good. The $500 is the m/fs.
