Better to combine 2 accounts or leave separate?

I have a 4800 point account at HGVC/Fiesta Americana. I'm looking at buying a 1600 point or a 3400 point Fiesta Americana account, resale. If I get one of these, is it better to keep the accounts separate or is it better - more useful - to combine them? Is anything gained or lost by keeping them separate?

Thanks. :)

It is better to combine them if you can, then all of your points are accessable from the same account.

I have two accounts that they can't combine because of different affiliate rules vs HGVC rules. It is a pain, as I have to call in to get them to move the points over. I also have to call if I want to deposit or rescue points as the software sets a maximum to the number of annual points in an account. Since I actually have double the point because I move points over, the automated system does not work for me.

I account is preferred.

I think they will combine "automatically" provided they are both HGVC Properties... I purchased at one resort and later purchased a 2nd at a different resort (both HGVC properties) and my points were automatically combined. The two are held under different contracts and pay separate MF's but the points are totaled together... Usage is much more flexible this way...

If you own at FAVC and bought resale, the memberships/contracts cannot be combined. You will have to pay a FAVC/HGVC membership fee for each unit each year.

I have two accounts because the rules are different for my affiliate then they are for my Seaworld, BUT I only pay ONE MEMBERSHIP DUES. You should not have to pay 2 HGVC dues to have 2 accounts.

Don't know if FAVC pays a due and HGVC pays a due. That may be another matter.

Actually, with FAVC, you do as of sometime last fall. If you buy resale, you have to pay a membership fee with each membership you own. I guess they're trying to discourage resales. :-(
