What are your favorite resorts on the west coast that are on the beach. We just came back from Suntide in Lido key which was fine but a weird layout IMHO. Beach was nice but it was sort of cold and very windy. We checked out a few on Longboat that I am putting on my list - but I am curious as to your views are - up and down the west coast. I would love to hear about Sarasota, Naples, Ft. Myers, Sanibel and Marco.

We love to fish, don't really care about shopping, walking. We are in our 60's so not the life of the party anymore! I have 2 good Cape Cod 2 bedroom units in the summer so I usually get good trades.

Thanks for whatever advise you might provide. :hi:

We are in love with Naples and Marco Island. Last year we stayed in Naples and made a day trip to Marco. The year before we stayed in Marco and made the day trip to Naples. We are not party people either but we love to be by the pool or/and ocean. There is also a Casino not too far from Naples that we visited. It was very nice and up to date. We took a dolphin tour from Naples Bay out into the Gulf which was beautiful and provided a great opportunity to meet new friends. Both Naples and Marco have fantastic restaurants. We also traveled from Marco to Captiva and Sanibel Islands. You can do both on a day trip. In Naples, the resort we stay at provided bicycles and sand chairs for their guests. That was a blessing as we threw the chairs into the trunk of our rental car and could spend time at the beach without sitting on a towel full of sand. I could go on but I don't want to bore you.:hi: Have fun!
