We had one of those and sold it on Craigslist a few years before we moved. My wife used it a lot when we first got it then not so much. We got more than half of what we paid and thought that was pretty good for how much we used it and owner it.
It was about 5k when purchased, and as I said, still unassembled. I would be ECSTATIC with half of that; expecting less.

My buddy has a small pickup with a trailer hitch. I'll find out if she was 'just talking' about a sauna or would actually cruise for one at great discount.

Just curious.

If any of you had enough Deductions to ITEMIZE on your taxes----did you include any of your things that you gave to Goodwill, Churches, etc ?

I suppose we could, but it was so overwhelming and so much work that we got to the point where we just donated the stuff and didn’t bother with receipts and such. Just way too much to deal with.

Yes, always. I look at my pile of crap and put a number from $100 to $200 on it. Then our accountant says, "it was more like $350, wasn't it?".

I think it is definitely a Grey area.

An example:
Let's say you give a never-worn shirt with tags still attached to Goodwill, or something similar.
Tag reads $24.99; though Goodwill will obviously sell it for less than that.
It also could be a woven basket from Hobby Lobby with a tag of $24.99, or a light fixture from Lowe's.

How much do you think the IRS allow you to deduct for these types of $24.99 items??

I put stuff in bags and boxes over the course of a year. I don't revisit it when I go to leave the stuff out for pickup. Medium pile, $100. Lots of stuff, like after my last garage sale, $200.
