Best ways to save $ or points on wyndham or vacations in general?

500k VIPs get a points discount by placing reservations last minute, right? I think it's 60 days, but what's the discount and is it a larger discount with more points?

How else can I make the most of my wyndham points other than going off-season in small apartments?

Also, I heard about RCI specials for really cheap week vacations. Can anybody tell me about this? And how else can I snatch up vacations for cheap, without using wyndham points?

I remember looking around years ago, and some wyndhams had cheaper MFs than others. Is that still the case, or has the points system erased that?

Thanks.

We are dealing with a lot of unknowns. Can you log into your parents’ Wyndham account and tell us if they are VIP Silver, Gold, or Platinum?

Wyndham gets access to RCI Last Calls, but they are often two star resorts in off season.

Assuming your 250k pts is VIP gold and you book within 60 days, that’s enough for two weeks of vacation with 2 br at three star resorts.

RCI last calls are good value - Myrtle Beach in January is a good example . (If you live in Winnipeg or Duluth .)
Last Calls are off season generally .

Yes there are variations in Wyndham MF by resort .

Lots of TUG Wyndham forum discussions have information . If you decide to add resale points it is worth investigating .
The best values generally cost something upfront ,while mid-high ones can sometimes be obtained for free ,or just the Wyndham transfer fee .
See TUG bargain sub-forum for research on free .

I looked at the account, and they are VIP Silver. Does that help?

Is there a standard % discount for the <60 days reservations?

Check the screenshot. You should assign the account only to yourself. It’s 25 percent discount within 60 days. We’d can probably give you better advice if you give us the resorts they own with the MF. The last month’s MF would be really helpful.

The screenshot is the program predicted to launch in 2020. That isn't the current program.

Today, doesn't silver gets discounts at 30 days (25%), gold at 45 days (35%), and platinum at 60 days (50%)? Discounts and upgrades at the 30/45/60 days. Correct me someone, if I misstated.

Discount for all three is at 60 days; upgrades are at 30/45/60.
