Best trade week to get Aruba

What weeks does everyone have great success trading into Aruba. We often elect for points or go back on our weeks in Hawaii or Surf watch but I’m looking to see what trades for Aruba with no problem as our kids have decided they want to try to go every year for… don’t laugh. Spring break! I was given an option to purchase any week in their system with only 1000 pts purchase for a bundle (not Aruba) but I’d like hope I can achieve this with Hawaii or Hilton head weeks already in our portfolio as I think we are at our limit (my husband doesn’t)

I've had great success for Aruba using Willow Ridge week 26 1 BR but we haven't tried for Spring Break. If your Spring Break is in the 2 weeks around Easter, that might be a problem esp when Easter is earlier in the year. Remember Easter is a Plus week at Surf Club. If. you're set on that week, you may want to consider buying the plus week. That's esp true if you need a 2 BR.

You might have a problem trying to trade in for spring break. Instead, why not rent out your Hawaii week and rent the week you want in Aruba.

Aruba for spring break is likely to be a tough trade. Though it depends when your specific spring break falls as they vary across the country.

Most all platinum MVC weeks will have enough trading power to get a week in most other MVC resorts.
But as the others have said spring break will be a difficult trade with any week you're trading with.

If you requested 13/14 months out you would very likely get a 1BR with a high TDI plat week. 2BR would be difficult as most owners lock off and deposit. There are approx 24 3 B/R units that lock off to 2BR x studio.

If I reserve a February 2025 week at Ocean Pointe I can then request Aruba Spring Break 2025 at 13/14 months out.

You can request up to 2 years out from the current date or from the check in date of your deposit, which ever happens sooner. MVC units are normally not deposited before 12-13 months out and often even closer to the date of check in. True fixed week/fixed unit options can be deposited 18 months out. You want to be searching when the first unit is deposited for the highest chance of ultimate success but remember that the order in line is based on trade power and not lead time.

I am concerned that your potential plan is doomed.

What worries me is the fixed supply of airline seat inventory, and the challenges of getting seats/fares during peak weeks into and out of Aruba. I would be concerned about waiting for an exchange confirmation into Aruba, and then shopping for airfares. And, from experience, making flight reservations, and then hoping for a confirmation into the resort/date of your choice, in my opinion, is a real gamble. Unlike other resort destinations, where there may be alternative airports, as you well know, there is no such alternative in Aruba.

I don't remember if they sold Fixed Week spring break weeks at Aruba Ocean Club. I'm thinking they sold Christmas, New Year's and President's Week, as Fixed Weeks, but, my memory is vague. Also, I'd stay clear of the Marriott's in Aruba during "Hell Week in Aruba," Google it, if you are not familiar with "Hell Week in Aruba," it's a real peach.

Aruba Surf Club has four event weeks, including presidents week, Easter, Christmas, and New Year’s. Ocean Club has no event Weeks if I recall correctly.

100% correct- Surf Club sold President's week, Xmas, NYE and Easter as events weeks so only owners who purchased at a premium can book those weeks. Ocean Club does not have events weeks but there are only 30 or so 2BR units at Ocean Club

If you are looking to exchange into a 2BR at Surf for either week before or week of Easter, that's like hitting a mini jackpot. Paula C's suggestion of renting out your Hawaii week for funds to rent Aruba on Redweek is your best option. The demand for Aruba for Easter week is crazy. Even if you had a super strong trader, I'm pretty sure owners who do not use their winter/Easter week are renting it whether on Redweek or via a broker that specializes in Aruba so the inventory is just not there.
