Hi!

I'm trying to ascertain when is the best time to visit Branson, Missouri in the spring before it gets crowded. We went last year in October and it was perfect! We got great seats at the shows and there was minimal traffic. We were going to go this year but I just had quintuple heart bypass and had to cancel. We're thinking late April to mid-May. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dave,

Your thinking is correct. That's a great time to visit! Obviously, the later the better as far as weather goes. Also, like anywhere else, it tends to rain more in April vs. May.

Also, avoid the very first week that Silver Dollar City opens. It can get crowded then. But that will be no problem with the dates you specified.

I would venture to say that if you liked October as far as crowds go, May will be even better. At least until Memorial Day anyway...

We ususally go to Branson 2 to 4 times per year. I generally find April's weather to be iffy at best. This year it was down right COLD and was almost a wasted trip. We've had better luck with May. Just keep in mind you're likely to get some rain during your stay. Probably our favorite months to go are May, October and December. November isn't bad but, it's just to early to really enjoy the Christmas lights. We prefer to wait until after Thanksgivng when there's a little more of a nip in the air and the Christmas season is in full swing.
