Just curious what rewards cards are you guys using to set up auto maintenance fee payments?

Do the cards see Wyndham or WorldMark charges as Travel related expenses?

Personally I use a Chase Card and use it only for the purpose of paying Wyndham fees. Unfortunately the card only pays bacc 1 % in rewards but that is better than nothing.

I too would be interested if anyone has found another card that racks up a higher percentage 365 days a year.

I use a Barclays Bank card for my automatic Wyndham monthly maintenance fees. The fees are specified as travel. And, my main use of the rewards is for travel.:)

Chase Sapphire. 2.14 reward points per dollar. I value the reward points at 2 cents each.

Chase Sapphire Preferred for all my Travel purchases, including MFs. 2% rewards plus a 7% dividend at the end of the year for all purchases. The value of UR points are great specially if redeemed for other travel.

Capital One Venture earns us 2% credit for travel expenses for each dollar charged. All our Wyndham expenses, including maintenance fees, are recognized as travel expenses.

The only problem is that dividend is going away after next year.

7% dividend on all purchases? That would be a total of 9% cash back if it were on all charges.

I was charging our maintenance fees to Capital One Rewards earning 2 miles for each dollar spent, but just recently signed up for Citi Thank You Premier, which is 3 miles for travel expenses including gas. Citi specifically lists timeshares as a travel expense with 3 times the miles.

What does the Thank You Premier card earn on non-travel charges?

2 miles on dining and entertainment and 1 mile for all other purchases. The 1 mile is pretty bad, so I think I'll use another credit card for non-travel, dining, and entertainment.

So, if you earned 100,000 points, they would have given you an extra 7,000, that's pretty cool...

Oh, a total earning of 2% plus 7% of 2% or 2.14%?

I will look into this one. Do all wyndham charges count for this? Guest fees, pic fee etc? Or just mfs?

Oh well, it was good while it lasted :) I <3 the value of the points though. I have the Thank You Premiere and am glad that they lowered the annual fee from $125 to $95. Do they now also have a way to transfer points to partners?

I used my Chase Rewards to transfer points to Southwest and United a lot, and it really gave me the best value for my points.

Rick has Chase Ink Bold and I have Chase Ink Plus.

We get 5X on office supplies (including gift cards at Staples.com)
2X on maintenance fees, as long as the resort codes it correctly
2X on all other travel, like hotels. Not that I use that much.

The best benefits we have found are with those two cards, and we do manufactured spend. A $200 Visa Gift Card is $6.95 and gets 5X miles, so 1,000 miles for $6.95. We deposit the $200 gift cards into Bluebird Amex and pay our bills that don't accept credit cards. It all works like a charm. It's all a game, and I enjoy playing at it. So far, we transfer all of our points to Southwest. There are other participating airlines and hotels. We have never transferred to hotels because 1) We don't stay much at hotels, and 2) The values is not good at all.

Bottomline: A SW flight that costs 10,000 points costs us $69.50 + ~ $5.30 tax.

We have the Capital One Venture Card and we never use it anymore.

We have those too... And Chase Freedom for the 5X quarterly category purchases. We use the CC that will give us the most reward for the category then we combine ALL our UR points together from our various Chase cards for redemption. <3 them.

I use Chase Freedom as my reward card but do not use a credit card for my maint fee payment.
For the $2.55 cents per month that I would get rebated to me on the Chase Freedom at 1% my personal sensitivity for the risk of missing the timely payment to Wyndham is too great.

I'd have to be sure to watch it like a hawk to ensure that when Wyndham goes to get their money I'm not in the middle of one of those fraud alert freezes or new card and number issued for my protection "windows" due to no fault on my part. I guess for me its a penalty for my VIP status as I've read post here where peoples fixed weeks converted to points became undone and found themselves having to untangle a major mess. Even though I watch my "flocks/finances" closer than most the $2.55 per month would cost me to have to pay too much in mental real estate.
The auto draft on my checking account has gone through with no intervention what so ever since I set it up many years ago.

Maybe if I did not have converted fixed weeks and have a grand fathered VIP status to protect I'd take the perceived risk.

Pretty much anything else I can put on the card and pay it off at the end of the month goes onto the card.
