I have a [San Diego reservation] this summer. I reserved it 1.5 years ago [edited] for my daughter, but now she has other plans for the summer. I have it listed on the Marketplace here. There were 2 other units for the same week on the Marketplace earlier. Both are gone now so maybe the Marketplace does work. Does anyone have experience renting out for a very high demand event? What is the best way to find a renter for this? Redweek? EBay? Airbnb? an SDCC specific forum somewhere?

Thanks, Pat

If it's an event week, why not look into the official event website and go from there?

First if it's the week/event/resort that I am thinking of, double check your dates to make sure that they line up. I think that they changed the week this year - it always coincides with my anniversary and this year it was a week before my anniversary. Then I would agree with Denise, craigslist and redweek should work. And with age of the crowd that attends, I would expect craigslist to be the best. I believe that user buzglyd would also be able to give you some advice on renting here.

Does it involve costumes? :)

Ok, so we know the event

Craigs list is still my choice for advertising.. That or a TV ad airing on the Big Bang Theory"

Ill be in San Diego all summer, and looking forward to seeing the folks in costume downtown on their way to and from the convention

I hate Craigslist for rentals. Too many kooks looking to scam or bargain.

I list my Comic con weeks here on TUG and Redweek.

Also, go on the Friends of Comic Con message board and post in the room sharing section.

Let us locals know when you're in town.

We'll bring you a drink with an umbrella and a fruit wheel.

I recently bought a boat docked in San Diego. I was there for two months last summer, and this year the plan is to live-aboard for 6 months; April to October
I like it enough that Im already shopping for something bigger

So maybe Ill host a TUG party in San Diego in a couple of months...you can bring the drinks

I got frustrated with Craigslist because my posts keep getting flagged and I could not figure out how to stop it...

I will be in San Diego in mid March, midweek. ... after a family wedding. Got 2 units at Inn at the Park ... send me your boat key as my BIL has some boat experience with his job in the Department of Defense. ;)

Clearly the right plan for escaping the Florida summer.
