I am hoping to combine a trip to FSA and the Palm Desert Area. I dont want to do June , July or August. Which Months would you suggest to give me the best combination of weather in both areas?

I am going to blame it on "I should be in bed rather than reading TUG." What is FSA?

IMHO OCT/NOV or MARCH/APRIL
MAR APR OCT NOV
Palm Desert 78 86 89 77 II's Website
FSA San Diego 66 68 73 69

September would be optimal for Carlsbad considering your restrictions, however probably too hot in Palm Desert. (Average High 106)

Socal Coastal suffers from May Gray and June Gloom so those should be avoided.

We do this trip every February and always have a good time. March would be ok with us too, but by April it is getting a little too hot in the Coachella Valley.

Thanks all, I kind of came to the conclusion of late October early November in Carlsbad and the following week in Palm Dessert , got my requests going....... I may get lucky ,its low demand time... Appreciate the input!

PS---- FSA is the II code for Four Seasons Aviara in Carlsbad.

I would agree with this, but I think you could go any time in October, this would be way better for Carlsbad I think. Palm Springs in October would be nice as well!

I spent Halloween week four years ago at the Carlsbad Seapointe - it was warm enough for the hot tub (but not the pools) and it was a good time - occupancy was not that high and we had a good time. Funtime

Now that I am wide awake, I can honestly say that being up late had nothing to do with me not knowing. Thanks for the response.
:)

Live in Carlsbad, travel to Palm Desert

You have a combination that could be tricky. Feb and Mar in desert is perfect but is Carlsbad's wettest months. If you can stand 85 degrees in the desert, then April in Carlsbad is usually dry and mostly sunny and you would have best of both worlds.

Of course that being said -- the last three years in both places have been unpredicable!

Check desert weather in October

It could be 90-100 degress in desert. As for Carlsbad, October is a beautiful month to be here.

Hi Cathy,

Thanks for the locals insight...

I did check :ponder:

Weather.com showed average highs in Palm desert in the low 80s for the second week of November.... and average lows around 55..... with record highs nearing 100.

Is this not your experience?

Carlsbad showed average highs of 68 avg lows of about 53 the the first week of November

I think I can live with that :)

Maybe not pool weather in Carlsbad but good for sports , I will be coming from avg highs of 58 and lows of 42 so it should feel warm to me!
