I thought it might be nice to see what types of incentives people have received for Timeshare Tours.

Some of mine:
$600 in tours for Grand Mayan Riviera Maya December, 2014
$300 in resort credit for Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach - Cabo (But my friends received $500 for the same tour - I should have spoken to them earlier…) December, 2015
$250 in restaurant credits for Casa Dorado in Los Cabos December, 2015

Anyone else want to share?

Value resort credit and activities at 50 cents to the dollar compared to cash.
I only do cash and 200-300 is the norm for Cabo.

We average about $400.00 per couple for tours in Cabo. We really enjoy seeing the up and coming properties and the work that has been accomplished from the previous years.Favorite tours are Finisterra and Diamanté. I actually have my favorite guy at the airport, I either look for him or call him and tell him to book me anywhere high end EXCEPT for The Mayan group. Will never go there again although the product is great! Tooooo cutthroat! We have been to Cabo so much that spending a few hours in the morning and coming home $1000 richer suits us just fine, when we have the rest of the day to drink and pool hop. Only one time, were we a little nervous...... It was in Puerto Vallarta. All ended well, but have to admit we were 2 nervous middle aged couples!

There is a group of people who would not travel to Mexico. There is another group who would only travel to the safer parts of Mexico but very cautiously as to where they tread and the services that they would use. I belong to this second group. Then there is the group, the OP and those responded who would go to strange places for a few dollars. You folks are a lot braver than me.

Crime, with the exception of the narco turf wars, in the areas popular with tourists is a lot lower than many places in the U.S.A. And the narco gun play rarely involves tourists.

I feel perfectly safe in both Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta - and much of the surrounding areas. I visit at least twice a year, and am in the process of purchasing an apartment in Mazatlan's el Centro district (longer vacations/retirement). ¡A cada uno lo suyo!
