Hi I am looking for the best weeks to request outside platinum.
I would appreciate some advice from Marriott owners.

Some say wk 13, 14, 21
Some say Thanksgiving, Memorial, and Labor Day. How about wk 15 for RBC Heritage and Spring Break?

Does everyone put their request in Jan 1st for 2018. I have never done this so I am trying to understand.

Ex: Gold weeks, Silver weeks and Value weeks. What is the best requests?

If this is in another thread I couldn't find it. I usually exchange or use my deeded week.

Thanks
Cyn

Definitely not Thanksgiving. It's not a high demand week and can be had with a cheap getaway or non-Marriott exchange. For Silver you want as late in March as possible. For Gold Memorial Day and Labor Day are good or any May week.

For the best Silver weeks you don't need a request but it can't hurt. Normally you will see the deposits at 13/12 months out but they don't stay too long. For Gold you definitely need an OGS for the better weeks. During the downturn Marriott was dumping Gold weeks a few months out but not sure that is happening as much anymore.

Imho the best time is in October. Still nice enough to go in the ocean, less crowds.

Keep in mind that owners at some of the HHI Marriott properties can deposit at 18 months out. So for the best chances, get your exchange request in before that.

Hi Thank you for all your great input.
So Christmas isn't requested much?
Thanks

Christmas is considered Silver season in HHI for a reason. It is higher demand than the Bronze weeks that surround it, but compared to the rest of the year - December, January and February are the slowest times of the year in HHI. The highest demand Silver weeks are generally the last two weeks in March - especially if Easter falls in late March or very early April (like it will in 2018). Weather in HHI can be very variable in December - February. It can be cold and rainy, but it also can be beautiful warm and sunny. Hard to predict. I'm sure last weekend was beautiful in HHI, heck on Sunday it was 80 degrees even here in Charlotte (versus normal high temps this time of the year in the 50s). I played golf in shorts and it was almost hot at times. I suspect HHI was perfect too.

Okay, thank you, so probably around May would be the best time. We have never been there and would like to go in a couple years.

May can be a beautiful time of year in Hilton Head. Nice and warm, but before the real heat and humidity of summer sets in.

Late September and October can also be very nice. Yes, it's technically hurricane season, but hurricane Matthew last fall was the first hurricane to hit directly on Hilton Head in 100 years. I know...famous last words, right?
