The "Best of Kauai" just came out.
Duane's Ono-Char Burger was number one. But number 3 was Burger King in
Kapaa. My son's going with us next year for the first time and he thought
that Burger King being number 3 was great. His first job was working at BK.

Do you have a link to the list? Might be handy for our trip in January - three months and three days!!

Duane's Ono Charburger is great, and Beach Hut has a good burger (prefer fish and chips there), and of course there is always our favorite: Bubba's. Three locations to serve.

My mother-in-law is one of those slightly built seniors, 83 years old now, and she gets the Double Slopper. That's a double burger smothered with chili. She doesn't eat the bun, but she eats it all. It's amazing. She won't eat for a long time after that. We know if we take her at 1:00, no dinner for her. She just loves those burgers.

Just came back from Kauai and you have to try 1 of 'Bubba's Burgers'.
"They recommend Not to add tomato & lettuce..." as their burgers taste better without it..
They were good as were their fries. !!

Noticed Tiano's is on the list as Best New Restaurant. Not a burger joint, but we accidentally stumbled upon this our first day on the island and went back with friends. Really liked it.

I stopped being a BK customer when I saw them make a burger here in Texas.

Bare handed the guy scratched his nose and then reached into the lettuce and put some on the burger. Didn't even wear gloves. (hard to pick your nose with gloves on)

Yuck.

Of course at Mc.D. you can't even see how them make the burgers.

If Ono Charburger is what you like, that's fine.

But, if you want something good to eat, Bubba's is THE place on Kauai for the best burger.

Aloha,

Marty

I agree Bubba's is my favorite too. In my post I wrote my son thought it was
great that BK was #3. I should have wrote my son thought it was funny.:D

That is funny for sure. I remember some years ago going to the update breakfast at the Pono Kai where they tried to pry money from you for activities, that they were bad-mouthing Bubba's and touting the virtues of Ono Charburger. We gave Ono a shot: dry, burnt (my sons dubbed it Carcino-burger!), and generally blah. We had eaten Bubba's before that, and have ever since, not even giving Ono consideration.

Looked up Bubba's menu - love their logo - "We won't serve a burger that costs less than a can of dogfood," with the lines through the logos for McD's and BK's.

Definitely on our list along with some of the other recommendations.

great BI burger!

If you are heading to the Big Island, Village Burger in Waimea is worth a stop. Owned by the a past Mauni Lani executive chef the quality is tops. Best burger we've tasted in a long time. Uses all local products.

Students grow the natural herbs for the ice tea. Trip advisor reviews good as well.
