Hello! We purchased an encore package while we were at Oceana Palms and I just thought I’d see what people‘s recommendations would be concerning accommodations. I know many would say don’t go at all:) however, since we have it, we need to make a choice.
So, where were you BEST and WORST accommodations on an Encore package?
Thanks so much!

One of my best was the week of the 4th of July at Barony Beach Club. We overlooked the pool and were not in the building which is across the street. Great location and they were not pushy.

My 4 night Encore package was only for Crystal Shores. I was able to request the wait-list for 6/22 - 6/26/24 and received a call on the first day those dates became available (mid August) confirming my reservation. We were given poolside high floor.

Isn't your Encore Package tied to going back to Oceana Palms? Most are resort specific, but they do offer "global" Encore Packages. I would never do an Encore in Orlando again. I did one before we bought timeshare and knew better. We bought another in a moment of weakness on the 100,000 Bonvoy Point offering. It was a ripoff. They are good for places and locations that are not easy to book via II getaway or exchange.

Our best was spring break at Timber Lodge, if you don't count our salesperson Lonnie.

We stayed at Newport Coast Villas on an Encore Package once. We had many previous stays at Newport Coast Villas in units with various views, never really a bad unit.

For the Encore stay we were assigned one of the worst villas on the property. We were overlooking the dumpsters & heard lots of noise from the trucks servicing the property. Beyond the dumpster service area was the Newport Coast road and traffic noiceg

At the sales presentation they were pretty aggressive & try to convince us to purchase points by pointing out we'd then have a better villa assignment on future stays. No thanks.

I don't remember the names of many of our sales people, but the worst ones tend to be the most memerable...

I had what I thought was an unusual Encore package presented and it seemed to be very expensive. It was an encore package for a particular resort for about $3,300 for 3 nights coupled with 4,000 Vacation Club points upon completion of the stay and presentation at a specified resort. Has anyone heard of this one and is it typical? We've never used or been offered an Encore package before or have just snubbed them before an offer.

Take out the value of renting the Abound points at around $2800-$2900 you are paying $400 to $500 and 90 minutes for your 3 night stay. If that is good for location, I would do it. Would do it for and MKO stay over Xmas or New Years for a 2br unit. Point stays for those days would be around 3000 Abound points for 3 nights.

It is your decision if it's a good value or not.

I calc’d the 4000 points the same way at first (using rental cost), but then I thought that the points begotten via the encore have 2 year use life, so are likely worth a bit more.

Good views. My problem with this one was that use was confined to Ocean Watch

Somehow messed up - I'll try again, my other problems with this Encore was that use was confined to OceanWatch where we own 6 weeks. It is also not worth going there for 3 nights as it is just too difficult to align an Encore stay with other reservations there.

Thanks for the financial comfort on the deal as it was not so bad.

Poolside high floor is pretty good for an encore package. You got lucky.

We purchased an Encore Package when vacationing at NCV years ago…we decided on Crystal Shores….I called to ask what view to expect...they said it would be a Island View Villa…so I booked 3 Island View extra nights…we will be back at CS May 2024,in a Island View Villa.

I don't know what possessed me to purchase this package, I have no intention of purchasing points at $16+. Reading these reviews, think I'll just eat the cost.

If I ever purchase these packages it is solely for the purpose of filling gaps in my itinerary, or I add it on to a week's stay somewhere.
