I want to order a new credit card, hopefully platinum rating, that offers the best deal for building frequent flyer miles. I am considering Capital One and American Expreaa Blue Sky, with no annual fee, and bonus miles for signing up. Does any one know of any pitfalls or drawbacks with these choices? Any recommendations or other cards that are a better choice? I would appreciate any feedback on this topic.

If you search for "credit card" (search this forum, button) you will find a lot of good info.

I've found two websites useful for comparing various credit cards and loans.

1. Go to: http://www.bankrate.com/brm/credit-cards.asp
Click "Go" on "Select a Credit Card Offer."
In the menu box on the left, select "Frequent Flyer Cards."

B. Go to: http://creditcards.lowermybills.com/cc-main-webapp/
In the menu box on the left, select "Airline."

That said, I've decided to use a dedicated hotel card (HHonors) instead
of a FF card, since its much easier to get discounted airfares these days.
IMHO, this makes free-tickets less valuable than free-rooms.

A cash back card may be the best bet with the various devaluations of miles going on, with DL and US leading the race to the bottom, with NW now a captive of DL. I would choose one of the better airline programs - AA, CO, or UA and get a card affiliated with that program if you want airline miles.

If I were allowed, I would get a SW cc. However, being a Canadian, I am prohibited from applying. :bawl:
