U.S. Visitors Return to Bermuda

The first United States travelers since the beginning of the pandemic returned to Bermuda this week, with flights on JetBlue.

Bermuda reopened its borders on July 1, with the first commercial flights from the U.S. on July 6.
JetBlue is now flying from New York to Bermuda, with Boston-Bermuda flights set to relaunch on Aug. 1.
The first international airline to touch down in Bermuda was Air Canada, which resumed flights on July 2.
WestJet will be launching flights from Toronto on Aug. 6, while British Airways is resuming London service on July 17....”

Government of Bermuda Travel Authorisation
Effective November 14 2022, travel authorizations will no longer be required to enter Bermuda.

Overview of Requirements for Visitors coming to Bermuda:
1. You are required to complete this Travel Authorisation registration process (complete one per person if travelling as a family or group) which includes your personal information, some health questions and your passport number etc (so please have that handy). You may make this registration within 48 hrs of your travel date.
Please note: The Bermuda Travel Authorisation is only valid for the dates you provide in the application. Any changes to travel plans or future travel plans will require an additional Travel Authorisation application.
2. You should have a COVID-19 PCR test within 5 days ( but preferably within 72 hours) prior to your departure. If you receive the results prior to your departure, record this in the Travel Authorisation registration. If you do not have a pre-departure test, you will have to be tested upon arrival and required to stay at in your room at your accomodation for three days until you are tested on the third day of your stay. Once you have received your day 3 test result, if you test negative then you may move about Bermuda observing the personal and public health measures required of all residents.
3. As part of your travel authorisation booking, you will be asked to pay a $75 fee by bank card to cover costs related to testing and public health monitoring. NOTE: children 9 and under do not have to be tested at any point, so will be charged a reduced fee of $30 for their travel authorisation. Children 10-17 must receive parental consent to be tested. If consent is denied, the young traveler will have to quarantine for 14 days on arrival.
Only Visa and Mastercard payment accepted.
4. If you are experiencing any of the following symptoms within 48 hours before travel, you will not be allowed to travel to Bermuda until your symptoms resolve: fever (over 100.4 F or 38 C), vomiting, or diarrhea.
5. Upon arrival in Bermuda you will be guided to a test area to be tested for COVID-19. Your temperature will be taken and you will be asked to answer a few questions about how you feel.
6. Once you leave the airport, you must go to your accommodation and wait in your room until you receive your test result (turnaround time between 6 to 8 hours in most cases, when arrival happens during the day).
7. You will be required to monitor your health, take your temperature twice daily and to attend a COVID-19 test site on day three (3), day seven (7) and day 14 (or earlier if visiting for a shorter period of time). Information on the testing sites is available here:

8. Should you test positive for COVID-19, you will be required to quarantine in your room at your accommodation for 14 days from the day of your positive test result (this may require you to re-arrange your travel plans).
What to bring with you:
1. A thermometer to track and monitor your temperature twice daily
2. Face masks for everyone travelling in your party
3. A smartphone should public health monitoring team need to contact you
4. If you have access to a printer, bring 2 printed copies of your Travel Authorisation to show at Immigration on arrival, and a copy of your pre-travel COVID-19 test result (if you were able to get tested). If you do not have a printer, have ready a charged phone or tablet to show your travel authorisation.
5. If you were able to obtain a COVID-19 PCR test 72 hours before departure, be ready to show those results on paper or tablet/phone to public health officials at immigration on arrival should they ask for it.
