I've seen a few threads but no verdict on how it went with doggie in tow. Any TUGgers stay at this resort with pooch? Is there a weight limit for the pooch? Do they have a scale for weighing at check-in? ;)

Do tell all if you've been there with Fido!:hi:

I didn't take a dog there, but I know there is some kind of weight limit - only smalller type dogs- that's all I saw when I was there.

Don't know about the weigth limit, but you are assigned a unit that is assigned for people with dogs, I think it's near a dog run.

I took my dog there, however she is only 5.2 lb. I saw all small dogs during the week. The biggest one I would guess is about 50 lbs.

There is a weight limit, but when I checked in I was not asked the size.

The designated builders are #1 and #2 at the entrance - not the most desirable location.

I talked to a dog owner who stayed in building 4. She originally did not plan to bring her dog there but the dog sit plan did not work out. She called and was advised to bring the dog over to stay in a non-pet building.

Wackymother took her family and her dog when we were there in July 2009. It is a little dog.
For some reason I thought they had changed their policy????

Thanks everyone. I'm also considering Westgate which is closer...but they have various fees that could amount to $150 for the week if pooch has an accident. (And I don't trust Westgage as a corporation to refund the refundable part of the fees even if the place is left spotless.) My dog has had two successful stays with us in St Augustime, so he is road-worthy imho, and I want to try a mountain destination next time, so we can hike.

Thanks for posting ya'll!

Yes, we took our dog to the Berkshires, but not to Vacation Village. We were at Oak n Spruce, and there was a dog fee...maybe $50 or $100 for the week? We loved being able to take our dog (about 15 lbs.), but since then Oak n Spruce has changed its policy and exchangers are not allowed to bring dogs.
