We want to book a week in Gatlinburg and these are our two choices: Bent Creek Golf Village or Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort. We are two adults and a 18 year old girl. We are most interested in a nice unit inside. We don't use the pools much. We would be going in the summer. We will be doing a fair amount of sightseeing and we do play golf but only at inexpensive courses. I read the reviews but am having trouble deciding. Thanks for your help. Debby

The rooms are nice inside at both of these resorts. The Westgate is hilly but the location is ideal for local sightseeing, just off the parkway connecting Gatlinburg to Pigeon Forge. Bent Creek has onsite golf but I don't know the prices. It's a couple miles outside of Gatlinburg and quite a distance from Pigeon Forge though. So if you don't care about the golf onsite, the Westgate may be a better choice for location.

Time of year would also make a difference. Traffic is HORRIBLE past the Westgate at peak times. July would be the worst in the summer. August, not so bad.

We played golf at bent creek this summer around the second week of july, the bugs were terrible there. We played all 18 holes but sure was glad it was over. We also played the local sevierville course, no bugs there and the course was pretty good also. I would suggest eagles nest in sevierville for golf. Not as costly there either.
