After some tough campaining (for the losing party), we have decided to go to Ft. Lauderdale for Thanksgiving. We are trying to decide between these two resorts. It will be 2 adults and 2 toddlers. While the size of the room in BPT will be larger, I'm worried about having to cross the street to get to the beach. On the other hand, BPT seems like it will offer more to do in the resort and in the immediate area.

We have decided on Charley's Crab for Thanksgiving. Can anyone recommend any good Cuban restaurants nearby? Please help, we leave in 2 weeks and need to make a decision! Thank you.

Thanks Terry

The walkway may make things easier. Now I'm hoping to hear if it gets really loud from all the noise associated with the mall.

Beach place has TS rooms but Harbor Beach is a much nicer resort. You can walk to BP from Harbor Point. The pool at Harbor Beach blows away the one at BP and Harbor Beach is right on the beach and has beach service/free beach chairs.

It's kind of comparing apples and oranges. With BeachPlace you can get a 1BR with full kitchen for the price of a regular room at Harbor Beach, but you will not get the full amenities of a Marriott Hotel.

This Made The Choice Easy

Well, we didn't know that Preview Package promotions are not available
to owners.

The BeachPlace Towers rate with the MOD discount was much higher.
So it looks like, Harbor Beach Resort here we come!

Thanks everyone!

I just bought an EOY at BPT. I have been there twice in the past 5 years. There was no tunnel 18 mos ago when I was there last, but the road crossing is easy - even with little ones... The rooms are nice and, as mentioned in another post, incl a kitchen, which you will not get at HP. I understand there has been significant renovation at BPT since I was there (sure hope so, given my recent purchase)... It is a great location for restaurants and shops, and the beach is lovely - you do, however, have to cross the road to get to the other side (-:
