I am new to HGVC and have not physically been to any of the affilate beach locations. I did however google earth the Casa Ybel in Sanibel and the appearance of the "entrance" from the street to the hotel looks like its just off a dirt road......well, not quite the resort touch that other HGVC properties would provide.

1) Can anyone share with me which HGVC/affiliate (or anything else we can trade into) is on water location in FL and has that higher end resort feel?

2) Also what resorts can someone recommend that are high end HGVC quality level that on the water that we can exchange into...i believe the exchange is limited to RCI??

I doubt that you'll find what you are looking for anywhere on Sanibel-Captiva, which islands pride themselves on being low-key, laid-back, relaxed and eco-friendly. Even pricey "South Seas Plantation" prides itself on its toned-down, end-of-the-world feel.

For a place that exudes an up-to-date, high-class, finer-amenity, circular-driveway, snooty approach, you need to look at the HGVC-affiliates on Marco Island (near Naples). Here is where you'l find multi-hued, multi-story, balconied condos that block the view of a multi-mile, white-sand beach. The street in front of the condos is paved, divided with turn-lanes, curbed, and has sidewalks no one actually walks on.
