I've had lots of experience with RCI Weeks, Points and Wyndham, but II is new to me. I just bought a Marriott Custom House Boston off-season (week 1-18 47-52) and I've signed up with II.

I'll be using my 2012 week, but I may reserve and deposit Thanksgiving or Christmas 2013 into II if I can get something good for it.

"Something good" for me would be a Marriott timeshare in Hawaii, Marco Island FL or maybe Phuket.

How likely is this, and are there any II strategies I should know about?

Thanks!

What you get depends on what you deposit. Check the Travel Demand Index on II for Custom House to see what your highest demand week is. Deposit that one; not sure if those weeks are high demand in Boston.

Read through the trading threads here so you get a good handle on how to use II. The best thing I can tell you is deposit the best week you can and be as flexible as possible with dates, room sizes and destinations.

That has always worked well for us.

Don't know much about II and its index, but your real life highest demand week will likely be the week of the running of the Boston Marathon every year in April.
